Monumental Brass Banana Leaf Palm Tree, Circa 1970

A monumental almost 9 foot tall banana leaf palm tree we feel comfortable attributing to Maison Jansen. This brass piece is truly wonderfully crafted and is of the highest quality, exhibiting all the characteristics of the highest quality associated with Maison Jansen. The size, scale and the construction details, including the steel cross hatches of the bottom of the base and the removable palm leafs are hallmarks of Jansen. Most Documented Jansen trees have the same ribbed rolled edges and modular and bolted bases. Tree of this scale were typically custom made for large scale installations like hotels lobbies or large public spaces.
The tree is in good overall condition although there are a few bend pieces and leaves and parts. The leaves are removable and we will mark them with painter’s tape so it can be reassembled easily for transport.
