A nice construction and painting on board by the noted English Artist Leonard Wyatt (1922-2008). This piece is titled “New Metropolis”. In an original frame with gold insert in a strip type frame. There are small losses to the piece and frame, with age appropriate wear.
A brief bio from the artist’s website:
Leonard Wyatt’s art education was interrupted by the war, which took him to Germany by way of the Normandy Beaches, Holland and Belgium.

Demobilised in 1947, he completed his studies at Hornsey School of Art and then commenced the artist’s search for his real self.

His first one-man exhibition was at the Woodstock Gallery, London, in March 1960, and since that time has exhibited continuously in over 170 exhibitions – including 22 one-man shows.

His paintings have been seen in most parts of the U.K. as well as in Norway, South Africa, U.S.A. and Germany. Two works have been purchased by the Museum of Modern Art in Allenstown, Pennsylvania. In 1987, he represented Britain with 11 large paintings in the 49th World Science Fiction Convention, held in Brighton, England.

Although his themes frequently reflect man’s quest into space, he is a lover of the English countryside, into which he frequently ventures; he has also illustrated five rambling books.

Shortly after his death in 2008, after a long period suffering from Alzheimer’s dementia , a retrospective exhibition of over 150 of Len’s major works was held in his home town of Ilford.
