1970’s Kirsch Hamilton Aurora Clock Restored
$2,500
A vintage 1970s Aurora clock. These stunning clocks are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art MOMA in NY. Developed in the 1970s by a NASA engineer and an architect these stunners were first produced by Rathcon and later for mass production by Kirsch Hamilton. It is running nicely, keeping time. The lenses are replaced and the clock has been refurbished with a new motor. They look great. This clock case has a few nicks, dings and scratches to the solid aluminum case, please see the detailed photos. There are some splotches on the case, pictured. This can be polished to a high gloss finish. Please see the video for a peek at the beautiful color changes. This clock has NOT been converted to a led package and retains its original configuration. I currently use a led bulb with a bayonet mount to replace the older taillight incandescent bulbs as they burn to hot. We have a 6000k bulb in for bluer colors. All different spectrum bulbs are now readily available for slighter warmer or cooler effects.
