This is a pair of rare stunning vintage armchair designed by the French Architect Jean Louis Godivier. They were created in 1980s and a version of this chair was exhibited in a modern furniture expo at the Pompidou centre in 1986. A handsome Postmodern design with echoes of Memphis design of Italy. I has lovely lines and is quite sculptural. The back swivels and they are quite comfortable. Since designing this chair Godivier has become quite famous and has gone on to design some impressive buildings and furniture. Not really sure how many of these were actually produced, but they are long out of production. The chairs have wear and touch up marks to the arms and leather parts, as well as wear and touched up spots to the metal. These chairs have age appropriate wear but they are striking and comfortable.
